Prior to this, our family was gifted some discontinued mini carbonator from 2017, made by an old company that got bought out or changed its name. We really liked it, but the darn thing broke in just over a month. Kind of inconvenient, considering we'd just bought about 100 8g CO2 canisters for it. We were about to buy a whole new soda maker along with new 60g canisters for it, when I saw this. This old-fashioned soda maker not only took our 8g canisters, but frankly, we all agree it fizzes better than our old carbonator did! There isn't really much to break on it; the components are pretty simple, with basically no mechanical parts involved. If you're used to a SodaStream or Drinkmate or whatever, you might be used to adding the flavoring to the bottle right after fizzing. I don't suggest doing that with this style of soda maker (and I doubt the manufacturer would either). I recommend adding the flavoring directly to your glass and then adding the fizzy water, or vice-versa.If the fizz is too strong for you, (or you want to use less fizzy water to save on cartridges), I recommend diluting your drink with some regular, unfizzed water.I figure my only complaint is that it's a little small. This might be annoying for a 3-4 person family who uses their drink maker a lot. For a smaller family (i.e., 2 people or less) though, this isn't too bad. It's also a little pricey for what it is, but considering what you spend on the mechanical ones that have a lot more stuff to break, and may or may not do as good of a job, I think it's well worth it.
